Kappad Beach
Kappakadavu Beach or Kappad Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Kerala, this beach is located near Calicut and it is the beach where Vasco Da Gama, the famous Portuguese explorer landed on 27th May 1498. One can see a small stone monument here which commemorates Vasco Da Gama’s landing here. At present this is one of the most important and famous tourist places in Kerala. Those looking to visit a wide and stunning beach can visit Kappad.
Kappad Beach is located about 16 km away from Kozhikode town and it is a pleasant rock studded beach which is very charming. There is a nearby temple on the rocks here which is said to be 800 years old. Kappad Beach can be best accessed through the backwaters. The peaceful and less crowded backwater here is a perfect way of travelling and is indeed a bewitching experience. You just have to take a ride through the Korappuzha River in order to go to the beach.So why should one visit Kappad Beach?
